Move of hosting 2026

Post by admin »

We have had a few problems with the hoster we have used for our websites and email for the last 3 years.

We decided to move hosters, which is a big undertaking as we have 9 domains in the CPU Enterprises business and several websites, plus forums, guestbooks, new opencart shops and lots of emails.

It has taken a few weeks but we believe it is all fully over. We had a few teething problems which the new hosted sorted very quickly.

We think we may have lost a few emails but as we have lots of backups we know there are no orders which have gone astray :D
If you have emailed us and not got a reply within 12 hours, firstly check your spam box and then let us know.

If you find any links not working or pictures missing please do let us know. With such a large hand coded website it is difficult to check every single page and link, so any help from customers is always welcome :computer:

A big thank you to all the customers that let us know our website has got some problems again.

We have been on to the new hosters who are on the case.

At the moment the only way to get to pattern leaflets is via the Pattern Leaflet Site Map page

As our website is so large, a lot of the pages are in folders under the main domain, any webpage in a folder has problems with something called "includes". This affects the navigation bar, logo, footer and, crucially, the thumbnail pages of patterns.

There are also some problems with the side bar on larger screens which show things like "similar yarns".

You will see the following message anywhere an include should be "[an error occurred while processing this directive]".

We are so sorry for any inconvenience, please do let us know if you have had a problem ordering something and we should be able to offer a work around. But hopefully the new hosters will get this sorted very soon 🙂

The hosters can't find the problem but we have worked out a fix ourselves, but it is going to take a while to implement.

If there are any specific sections you would like us to prioritise please do let us know.
